Biography
From the age of 11, John Cooney has acted in the United States and around the world.
Most recently, you can catch John during his appearances on QVC with his concept brand show, Forbidden City. In mid 2008, Forbidden City will appear live in the UK, Germany and Japan.
John played the lead role of Johannes Versin in Sans Pertinence (Winner 2005 Dusty Film Festival NY NY) , was featured in BD Wong's Social Grace and in Disney's Raising Helen . John premiered the role of Byron in David Pinner’s All Hallows’ Eve playing opposite current day starlet Maggie Q (MI: 3, Die Hard) and was the first producer in tthe world to premiere an original Equity show outside of the United States. He also had the most fortunate opportunity to play the Emcee and Ernst Ludwig in Kander and Ebb’s. Cabaret, on world tour ending at the State theatre in Sydney. John starred with Canadian Actress, Patricia Boothman, in Morris Panych’s Vigil which opened at the prestigious Star Alliance Theater.
Other film credits include the Voice in Wang Kar Wai’s award winning 2046 (Cannes & Busan) , Payne Premium, Evil City and Love Makes a Woman. He has appeared in numerous TV commercials and done voice overs for clients around the world.
